During his lifetime, William E. Simon gave philanthropic support to a great variety of projects and institutions. Some of these initiatives held a distinct, personal interest for him, and he had an intimate hand in their creation and/or support. The William E. Simon Foundation continues to maintain its partnership with these programs and organizations, which it considers to be important parts of William E. Simon's philanthropic and leadership legacy. Examples of such initiatives include the William E. Simon Prize Programs, Project Independence at Morristown Memorial Hospital, and the University of Rochester's William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration, among many others.
